Aduana Stars remain Ghana’s sole representatives in CAF inter-club competition this year after taking advantage of home court to overturn a 1-0 deficit against Al Tahaddy.
The league champions progressed from the preliminary round of CAF Champions League for the first time following a 2-1 aggregate victory.
After a boring first half which saw Tahaddy sit deep to frustrate the home team, Aduana finally scored in the second half. Striker Elvis Opoku capitalised on defensive mix up by Tahaddy to level the tie.
That was before fan favourite Derrick Sasraku curled in the winning goal on 80 minutes.
Aduana are thus one round away from the reaching their group stage target. They will face the winner of the tie between ES Setif of Algeria and Olympique de Bangui of Central African Republic.
